Power and Mediation in Medieval/Early Modern Times

Students are guided to create their own theater performances by reenacting a historical conflict that took place during the time that they are studying in history. Students also reimagine a conflict from history that could have had a peaceful outcome if a mediation had taken place to resolve it. Students must go through all of the steps of mediation in that historical scene. The possible application of mediation for today’s conflicts, both within the United States and in international relations in current events, is also examined.
