Perception, Communication and Underlying Needs

This unit introduces students to specific human needs, concepts of perception, communication and active listening tools. Students define constructive communication and practice with active listening and verbal communication techniques. Students do a guided character analysis to identify specific human needs from a piece of literature, to understand conflict as unmet needs.They then create their own short stories about a conflict using the concepts of communication and underlying needs.
