English Language Arts Unit #6
Communication and Reconciliation
In this unit, students work with concepts of reconciliation, trust, and forgiveness. Students participate in a Community Dialogue Circle, to practice hearing all sides in a conflict situation, and finding strategies to restore balance and bring healing. In this unit, students also work together in teams to create a situation that portrays a conflict and then use communication and trust-building mechanisms to achieve reconciliation. Students present their skits to the entire class. Students are challenged to reflect on how they can apply Restorative Justice concepts to the entire school community and in their daily lives.
