Social Studies Unit #1
Analyzing Medieval/Early Modern Conflicts
Students become introduced to the meaning of conflict as unmet needs, the distinction between constructive and destructive conflict, stages of conflict, sources of conflict, and underlying needs that can cause conflict. The key outcomes for the unit are experienced through a jigsaw exercise and student identification of specific events using conflict analysis to suggest ways to have unmet needs resolved.
